Five members of family attempt suicide in Guj village

Ahmedabad, Feb 14 (PTI) Five members of a familyincluding two women today attempted to commit suicide byconsuming poisonous substance over a land dispute, policesaid.

The incident took place at Dodar village of Sanandtaluka where one Mantang Sendhav along with his two sons andtheir wives consumed poisonous substance, they said.

All the five persons were admitted to the V S Hospitalin the city for treatment.

The family which hails from Kundal village in Sanandhad gone to meet a land dealer to talk about a dispute overtheir agricultural land at Dodar village where they laterconsumed the poisonous substance, they added.

An investigation has been initiated in the matter andthe land dealer and relatives of the Sendhav family are beingquestioned to find out what could have prompted them toconsume poisonous substance, police said.
