Copra plunges on heavy stockists offloading

Mumbai, Feb 14 (PTI) Copra prices fell sharply at thespices market here today due to fresh selling by stockists andtraders coupled with subdued export as well as domesticdemand.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai dropped by Rs 200 per quintal toRs 8,500 from last Saturday''s closing level of Rs 8,700.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra edible Mumbai slipped byRs 100 per quintal each to Rs 7,050 and Rs 8,000,respectively, compared to Rs 7,150 and Rs 8,100 previously.

Copra office Kozhikode also lost by Rs 50 per quintal toRs 6,950 from Rs 7,000 last weekend.

Meanwhile, black pepper, ginger bleached and unbleachedclosed stable in the absence of necessary buying support.
