Reservation benefits need to be reviewed: Bainsla

Indore, Feb 13 (PTI) Advocating a change in the currentreservation system, senior Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainslatoday said that a new policy should be worked out to benefitthe deserving people.

"Reservation policy should be reviewed. People who havereaped its benefits should be excluded from it. Deserving onesshould be included in it," Rajasthan Gujjar Arakshan SangharshSamiti Convenor Bainsla told reporters here.

The duration of reservation on the old formula is beingextended he said adding that it was the time for a nationaldebate on it.

"Let the people demanding reservation on caste lines fora long time get its benefit," the 70-year-old leader said whenasked whether reservations should be based on economicfactors.

Bainsla said the Gujjars agitation demanding reservationfor their community from December 20-January 5 was by andlarge peaceful.

The Gujjar community struggle will continue in Rajasthantill their demand for reservation is met, he added.
