Mizoram govt yet to get central fund for Bru repatriation
Aizawl, Feb 12 (PTI) The Centre has sanctioned Rs 9.7crore for resumption of repatriation of Bru refugees fromTripura relief camps but the money was yet to be credited inMizoram government''s account, official sources said heretoday.
The union finance ministry had sanctioned the money onFebruary 2, the sources said.
Non-availability of funds had stalled the resumptionof repatriation of Bru refugees even as Shambu Singh, JointSecretary (North East) of union home ministry had urged theMizoram government to resume the repatriation process byFebruary 10.
Authorities of Mamit district, which lies onMizoram-Tripura border, said the repatriation could be resumedas soon as funds were made available.
"We have already completed the identification processin all the six relief camps in North Tripura and we arewaiting for the fund," Mamit district official said.
