Maharashtra to provide computers, IT facilities to villages
Aurangabad, Feb 11 (PTI) Maharashtra Government wouldprovide computers and other IT-based facilities to the GramPanchayats, Rural Development Minister Jayant Patil saidtoday.
Techies working in the IT industry should visit thevillages and after conducting surveys suggest the Governmentabout the requirements of the rural people, he said.
He was speaking at a seminar on E-Panchayat organisedas as part of the E-Governance conference here in CentralMaharashtra.
Suggestions given by the IT professionals would beaccepted by the government, Patil said, adding farmers shouldtake benefit of IT facilities provided to them.
