Karnataka agrees to diversion of water for Andhra district
Hyderabad, Feb 12 (PTI) Karnataka government todayagreed to allow diversion of 2.626 tmc of water to theAnantpur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Following a request by the state Chief Minister N KiranKumar Reddy to his Karnataka counterpart B S Yeddyurappa, theTungabhadra Board has agreed for diversion of 2.626 tmc ofwater to meet the drinking water needs of three water supplyschemes in Andhra Pradesh, an official release said.
Reddy had called up Karnataka Chief Minister yesterdayand sought diversion of water from K C Canal quota.
The water is required for drinking water needs ofAnantpur town and Satya Sai Rural Water Supply and Sri RamiReddy Drinking Water Schemes.
