J&K to sell saffron at 11 showrooms across India

Jammu, Feb 11 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir will sell worldfamous Kashmiri saffron at its 11 showrooms of HandicraftCorporation across the India.

"The Handicrafts (S&E) Corporation limited willfacilitate saffron growers of the state to sell their producethrough its 11 showrooms across the country", AgricultureMinister Gulam Hassan Mir said today.

The new arrangement was agreed upon after theAgriculture Minister took up the issue with Managing DirectorHandicrafts (S&E) Corporation limited S A Tak on the demandof saffron growers who had met the Minister.

The Corporation has agreed to lift the saffron fromthe growers on sale-cum-return basis and put it for sale atits showrooms in different cites of the country.
