CBI serve notices on 65 mining companies
Bellary, Feb 11 (PTI) CBI, investigating illegalmining activities in Karnataka, today served notices on 65mining companies including those owned by Tourism Minister GJanardhana Reddy and his family members seeking details oniron ore exports, among others.
The CBI has asked the mining companies to furnish byFebruary 18 details on quantum of iron ore exports by themsince 1998, number of transport permits obtained by them andalso documents on their mining lease grants, officialsources said here.
The Central investigating agency also sought detailsof transaction (to be furnished by February 18) thesecompanies made since 1998, details of directors on theirboard, monthly and yearly returns on their business, thesources said.
The CBI team concluded its three-day inspectionat various mining areas of the district today.
