Badal approves film city project in Mohali
Mohali, Feb 11 (PTI) Punjab Deputy Chief MinisterSukhbir Singh Badal today gave approval for setting up a FilmCity here to give fillip to making of quality Punjabi movies.
Badal asked Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture,Geetika Kalha to prepare a conceptual plan for the proposedFilm city that should also have Film and Television Institute.
He said he was being approached by many filmprofessionals who want to set up state-of-the-art film studiosin the film city.
Badal asked Kalha to make Film and Television Institutea part of Film city that would provide professional trainingto the youth in the art of film making and its technical.
He said there was a shortage of quality technical stafffor filmmaking and the institutes would provide the humanresource backup to film studios.
Badal asked Principal Secretary, Culture, to instituteawards for Punjabi films so that people are encouraged toproduce quality Punjabi films.
