Amarpal murder case: 3 held for making threat calls

Meerut, Feb 12 (PTI) Three persons were arrested forallegedly threatening slain Congress leader Amarpal Singh''sbrother to withdraw the murder case, police said.

Yashpal Singh had received calls on his mobile onDecember 14 and 21 from two different numbers, threatening himto withdraw the case, SP (rural) Anant Dev Tiwari told a pressconference yesterday.

The numbers were traced which led to the arrest of thetrio, he said.

60-year-old Singh, who had joined Congress after quittingBJP, was shot dead on November 15 by some unidentified men atAttora village near here.
