US hopes for productive Indo-Pak dialogue

Washington, Feb 10 (PTI) The US today said it hopedthat resumed dialogue between India and Pakistan would beproductive.

"I think that the idea of them sitting down and havingpeace talks is something that the president has encouraged andwe hope will be productive in their outcome," White HousePress Secretary Robert Gibbs said.

India and Pakistan today announced commencement ofcomprehensive talks on all outstanding issues, includingterrorism as also progress on 26/11 trial there and Jammu andKashmir.

The talks were suspended more than two years ago inthe wake of Mumbai terror attacks.
