Man sentenced to life imprisonment for human sacrifice

Baripada (Orissa), Feb 10 (PTI) A fast track courthere today sentenced a man to life imprisonment afterconvicting him in a triple murder case involving humansacrifice.

The convict, identified as Bansidhar Mundian (49)of Ambajada village in Mayurbhanj district, had killed his sonSudarshan (15), sister Katina Naik (40) and niece Relha (10)on October 10, 2008.

Mundian allegedly killed his kin as part of hispractice of black magic, a government counsel said.

Mundian, who was working as an Assistant Registrar,Cooperative Society, Mayurbhanj, however, failed in his bid tokill his wife and daughter on that day.

Fast Track court judge Pramod Kumar Mishra sentencedMundian to life imprionment after holding him guilty undersection 302 of IPC (Punishment for murder).
