Girl attacked by leopard
Kotdwara, Feb 11 (PTI) A six-year-old girl wasattacked by a leopard here in a village, police said.
Six-year-old Himani fell prey to the leopard yesterdayevening while she was playing in the courtyard of her house atLangal village in Bironkhal Development Block in Pauridistrict, they said.
The big cat dragged the victim to a nearby forest.
The villagers, who rushed to the spot after hearing cries ofthe mother of the victim, formed a rescue team to trace thegirl.
However, the overnight search could yield no clueabout the beast or the girl. The villagers have reported thematter to the revenue officials and forest department.
"A team of forest department officials has been sentto the area to ascertain the situation," said M B Singh, theDivisional Forest Officer of Garhwal range. PTI CORR NSK
