CM announces scholarships for students of classical music
Pune, Feb 9 (PTI) Maharashtra Chief Minister PrithvirajChavan today announced here that state government would grantscholarships for the students of classical music in the memoryof the late maestro, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.
Chavan also said that Government would institute anannual life-time achievement award in the field of classicalmusic.
Inaugurating an art gallery named after the late singer,Chavan said, "Art is a backbone of our culture. Bharat-ratnaPandit Bhimsen Joshi Art Gallery'' is a unique project throughwhich we can introduce different forms of arts to our newgeneration."
The art gallery consists of a mini-theatre, a musiclibrary, art gallery and an auditorium.
