BJP demands Rs 4000 crore package for Andhra farmers

Hyderabad, Feb 10 (PTI) BJP Andhra Pradesh unit todaydemanded that central government should release Rs 4000 croreimmediately as a relief package for the farmers whose cropswere damaged due to heavy rains and floods in the state.

A delegation of BJP led by state unit president G KishanReddy met a central team here and submitted a memorandum ofdemands.

An eight-member central team from National CalamitiesCommittee visited some of the affected districts in the stateto assess the damage to the crops.

The farmers in the state have lost their entire standingcrop due to floods and heavy rains during last year, butenumeration survey has not been conducted in some of theTelangana districts, BJP delegation said.

Former union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, party�snational secretary Dr K Laxaman and national executive memberN Indrasen Reddy were among the members of the delegation.
