AP CM pleads with central team for more funds for crop damage
Hyderabad, Feb 10 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NKiran Kumar Reddy today urged a Central team of officials tohelp the state get substantial funds for providing relief tothe farmers who suffered heavy damages due to heavy rains lastyear.
The losses suffered were to the tune of Rs 12,500 croreduring 2010-11 as per preliminary estimates, Reddy told a teamof Central officials who toured the state to estimate thelosses.
The state government has already released about Rs 2,200crore, he said and urged the team to help the state in gettingadequate funds, an official release said.
Meanwhile, leaders of Telugu Desam and BJP also met theofficials and asked them to help the state in a big way. PTISJR ABC
