AI finally sacks Arora as COO of its budget airline
Mumbai, Feb 11 (PTI) Air India today sacked its budgetarm''s Chief Operating Officer(COO) Capt Pawan Arora afterdilly dallying on the issue for more than two months after itsBoard cancelled his appointment.
"Capt Pawan Arora has been given marching orders afterGovernment desired that his services should be dispensed with"highly-placed Air India sources told PTI here tonight.
Arora(55) was appointed Air India Express COO inOctober last year at a hefty pay package of Rs 1.20 crore perannum.
But within weeks the state-owned airline''s Board ofDirectors cancelled his appointment on November 18 on theground that it was not in line with the norms.
Arora, however, continued attending office, citing hiscontract clauses. .
