Thailand and Cambodia are not in a war: Thai Dep PM
Bangkok, Feb 10 (TNA) Thailand Deputy Prime MinisterSuthep Thaugsuban insisted today that the ongoing tensionalong the Thai-Cambodian border was the result of clashesbetween Thai and Cambodian border troops, not a war.
Thaugsuban, who oversees national security, dismissedCambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen''s remarks that Thailand andCambodia are at war, saying that there were only clashes alongthe Thai-Cambodian border.
Meanwhile, Thaugsuban has also rejected France''sproposal to play a mediation role to end border rows betweenThailand and Cambodia.
Thaugsuban insisted on Thursday that the ongoingborder problems between Thailand and Cambodia should besettled by the two neighbouring countries without anymediation by a third party. (TNA)
