Faster & thinner iPad 2 production starts

San Francisco, Feb 10: As the days pass, rumors on Apple iPad 2 surge. The hoax news about the launch of Apple iPad 2 has turned to be an uninteresting, but the reports on its specifications and new features always grab the attention. Justifying the rumors we heard so far, Wall Street Journal has reported that the iPad 2 is in production stage.

Citing "the people familiar with the matter," WSJ added that the new Apple iPad 2 will be thinner, faster and will boast a front facing camera for FaceTime video calling.

"The new iPad will be thinner and lighter than the first model, these people said. It will have at least one camera on the front of the device for features like video-conferencing, but the resolution of the display will be similar to the first iPad, these people said. It will also have more memory and a more powerful graphics processor, they said," WSJ report said.

According to this report, the new iPad 2 will have dual camera, one at rear and one at front that support video calling. Also the display of iPad 2 will be similar to the current version. WSJ report does not include any details about the earlier rumors of Retina display, 7-inch screen size and the USB support.

Apple iPad dominates the tablet market with more than 14.8 million units sale in the nine months since its release in Apr 2010. The technology giant Apple used to upgrade their devices in one year after its launch like the iPhones. We can assume that iPad will get a new version in Apr 2011.
