Speaker confident Budget Session will be held smoothly

Chennai, Feb 10 (PTI) Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumartoday expressed confidence that the Budget Session of theParliament would be held "smoothly".

"Next session will run smoothly," Kumar told reportershere at the airport enroute to Puducherry.

"I have spoken to all the political parties three timesand all they want is to run the session (smoothly)," she said.

The Budget Session of the Parliament will start onFebruary 21.

The last session had been completely stalled by a unitedOpposition over their demand for a Joint ParliamentaryCommittee (JPC) probe into the 2G Spectrum allocation scam.

Kumar said she was on an official visit to Puducherry andsaid she would be visiting Sri Lanka later this week toattend the Third Asian Regional Conference of CommonwealthParliamentarians.
