Police officer, vigilance employee held in Bihar
Patna, Feb 10 (PTI) A police officer and a revenueemployee were today arrested by state vigilance bureau whileallegedly accepting bribe in Bihar''s Aurangabad and Madhepuradistricts, vigilance sources said.
Acting on a complaint, sleuths raided the office ofstation house officer of Haspura police station inAurangabad district Ajay Kumar Sinha and caught him''red-handed'' while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs10,000 from the complainant Sudhir Kumar, the sources said.
This is the first case of arrest of a station houseofficer in Bihar this year, the sources said.
Sinha had promised to Kumar for recommending his nameto be appointed as special police officer, the sources said.
In another trap case, vigilance officials raided theoffice of Jainarayan Yadav, a revenue employee at Chausa blockin Madhepura district and caught him red-handed whileaccepting bribe of Rs 3,000 from one Vidyanand Sharma.
Yadav had been approached by Sharma for mutationof a plot of land.
