Minimum temperature rises in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh, Feb 10 (PTI) The minimum temperature rose byupto two degrees Celsius above normal in several parts ofPunjab and Haryana even as a few areas in the region wereengulfed in fog this morning.

The minimum temperature hovered between two degreesCelsius above normal to one degree Celsius below normal inPunjab and Haryana, the MeT office said here today.

Narnaul was the coldest place in the region with a low of5.7 degrees Celsius, which was one notch below normal.

While Bhiwani settled at 7.4 degrees Celsius, the minimumtemperature at Amritsar was 7.5 degrees Celsius, one notchabove normal.

Among other places, Hisar and Karnal settled at anidentical low of 7.6 degrees Celsius, one notch each belownormal.

Patiala had a low of 8.9 degrees Celsius, one notch abovenormal, followed by 9.6 degrees Celsius at Chandigarh, twonotches above normal and 10.8 degrees Celsius at Ambala, alsotwo notches above normal.

Few places, including Amritsar, Karnal and Rohtak in theregion had fog in the morning.

The MeT forecast further rise in day as well as nighttemperatures in the region during the next two days.
