Lasalgaon APMC remains closed as farmers protest onion prices
Nashik, Feb 10 (PTI) The Agriculture Produce MarketCommittee (APMC) at Lasalgaon in the district remained closedfor the second day today as farmers did not turn up for theonion auction.
The onion-growers in the district are demanding that banon onion exports be lifted, as the prices have crashed in thedomestic market.
The prices have come down to as low as Rs 200 to Rs 250per quintle, APMC sources said.
The Pimpalgaon Baswant APMC remained open, and onionauction was conducted there with the bulb fetching pricesbetween Rs 600 and Rs 815 per quintle.
