Hooda stresses on the need for optimum utilisation of land

Panchkula, Feb 10 (PTI) Chief Minister Bhupinder SinghHooda today advocated optimum and judicious utilisation ofland while planning townships in Haryana.

"Just as urbanisation and industrialisation areessential for development of our economy, interests of landowners and agriculture are equally important for us. We haveto strike a balance," he said at the inaugural session of 59thNational Town and Country Planners Congress here.

Hooda said the planners can use the land as a resourcefor financing the urban transport projects.

While describing the urban planners as key players inprocess of urban development, he said they should be sensitiveto the emerging challenges in their field.

"If things can be taken care of at the planning stageitself, the subsequent difficulties are easy to handle," hesaid.
