Kidnapped boy rescued, 4 held
Chandigarh, Feb 8 (PTI) Police today rescued a kidnappedchild and arrested four people in this connection.
The one-year-old boy was kidnapped from sector-26 here inthe morning. Later in the day, his father received a call onhis mobile phone demanding Rs 5 lakh for the child''s release,following which he approached the police.
The police deciphered the number and dispatched a team tothe STD booth from where the call was ostensibly made. Theymanaged to procure the identity of the callers and locatedthem nearby on a motorcycle.
The duo was held and their interrogation led to thearrest of the kidnappers.
The kidnappers have been identified as Amarpal (19),Banwari (18), Salim (20) and Surra (20).
