Child killed, three others injured
Bhabhua (Bihar), Feb 8 (PTI) A child was killed andthree others injured today when a speeding jeep hit them onthe road near a pandal erected for Saraswati Puja celebrationsat Adhoura in Bihar''s Kaimur district today, police said.
The children were going to perform puja at the pandalwhen the speeding jeep hit them.
Eight year-old boy Sarwajeet Sharma was killed on thespot, while three other children, who suffered injuries, wereadmitted to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, angry locals met Lok Sabha Speaker MeiraKumar, who was here during the day for an official meeting,and demanded immediate action against the driver and owner ofthe vehicle.
Kumar later asked the district Superintendent ofPolice, who was also present at the meeting, to take action.
Police then registered an FIR against Ramgahan Yadav,father of local RJD leader Bhola Yadav, who was learnt to bethe owner of the jeep.
