World Cup trophy on display in the city

Coimbatore, Feb 7 (PTI) Reliance Communications, theGlobal Partner for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, todaydisplayed the trophy in the city as part of their trophypreview across India and also promotional activity.

The 11 KG cup, made in Gold and Silver, was unveiled at afunction by Lakshinarayanaswamy, President, CoimbatoreDIstrict Cricket Association, in the presence of city policecommissioner, C Sylendra Babu.

Encouraged by the overwhelming response to its Value AddedServices from cricket loving fans during the T20 WorldTournaments, Reliance is all set to launch a host of servicesthat would provide exciting audio and video content on3G platform during the World Cup, which would be kicked off inDhaka on Feb 19, Rakseh Singh, Hub head, Tamil Nadu andKerala, said at the function.

Both Sylendra Babu and Lakshminarayanaswamy expressedhope that India would win the cup, as the team have thepotential to do so.

Later the trophy was taken through the main thoroughfareof the city and kept at strategic points for the public tohave a view.
