Turkey careful on trade with Iran, Yazici says
Washington, Feb 8 (Anadolu) Turkish State MinisterHayati Yazici said that Turkey was careful on trade with Iran.
Minister Yazici met with Secretary Janet Napolitano ofthe US Department of Homeland Security as part of his talksin Washington, DC yesterday.
Speaking to reporters in a press conference held at theTurkish Embassy in the US capital, Yazici said, in regard tothe US decision to put certain Turkish companies on a blacklist for doing trade with Iran, that Turkey was careful ontrade with Iran.
We can not have an attitude to ignore our responsibili-ties stemming from international agreements. Those who ignoreagreements will not be given an opportunity by Turkishcustoms and all public administrations, Yazici said.
In reference to his meeting with Napolitano, Yazici saidthat, as in other areas, Turkey and the US will continue toexchange information on illegal drug trafficking and nuclearsmuggling.
Today, we underlined with Napolitano Turkey and theUS''s cooperation in such fields, Yazici said.
Minister Yazici will return back to Turkey on Saturdayafter visiting the states of Florida and California. (Anadolu)
