Solution sought from netizens to ease traffic on Delhi roads

New Delhi, Feb 7 (PTI) How do you handle a situation whenvehicles of a Delhi High Court judge and a director-levelofficer of Home Ministry were seen parked in no-parking zone?

This is a question raised by Joint Commissioner (Traffic)Satyendra Garg in Delhi Traffic Police''s Facebook page when atraffic personnel tells him they cannot do any thing.

"How do you handle this situation? I happened to be inConnaught Place day before (Friday) at 3:45 PM. In the noparking zone, you find five cars two of these with redbeacons. There is a traffic police motorcycle with twoofficials," Garg said in his posting.

He said when he asked traffic officials why they were notprosecuting illegally parked vehicles, they told him "one ofthe vehicle is of a High Court Judge whose wife had come forshopping and the other red beacon vehicle was of a director-level officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the threeothers were costly Mercedez or other brands".

He said public should respond to the head constable whois feeling intimidated.

Many netizens responded to his query asking them tofearlessly prosecute the violators.

One of the responses read, "If the senior officers of theDelhi Police and their bosses will support the Head Constable-- then and only then will the problem be solved."

"Today the HC is more than afraid of losing his job or areprimand if he actually does his job," netizen Ajaya Chandsaid in his post.
