Rio reviews mid-term appraisal of state annual plan

Kohima, Feb 8 (PTI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Riotoday discussed the mid-term appraisal of state annual planand reviewed the gross state domestic product (SGDP) atmeeting at the civil secretariat here.

He also released a publication, �Report on CSSImplementation in Nagaland for the year 2009-2010� of thestate planning and co-ordination department before the reviewmeeting with commissioners, secretaries and heads ofdepartments, official sources said.

Calling upon officials to ensure timely completion ofprojects and judicious use of funds, he asked the concernedHoDs to submit the progress reports of CSS projects sanctionedlast year as the government was all set to begin exercise fora full fledged budget for the next fiscal.

Maintaining that the state has no resources of its ownand most of the funds are coming from Delhi, DoNER and throughloan, Rio asked the HoDs and other senior officials to abideby the limits.

He said the concerned officers should put their headstogether to prepare accurate statistics about the state tomake the development activities visible in Nagaland.

The chief minister called for a change in the Nagamindset and work culture for successful implementation ofdevelopmental programmes, planning and monitoring of fundsutilization, quality assurance and timely execution ofprojects, which are essential components of growth anddevelopment.

Stating that the DAN government had put its best effortsfor development of the state, Rio asked all NGOs andorganisations to hold discussions on their grievances with thegovernment.

Planning minister T R Zeliang also emphasised the needfor timely submission of progress reports of various schemesand asked the departments concerned to speed up the executionof the projects aleady sanctioned.

Chief Secretary Lalthara, chaired the review andwas participated by development commissioner Alemtemshi Jamir.
