Nabard sanctions Rs 112 cr for rural infra in HP

Shimla, Feb 7 (PTI) National Bank for Agriculture andRural Development (Nabard) today sanctioned Rs 112.35 crorefor creation of rural infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.

The funds have been allocated under Nabard''s RuralInfrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), taking the aggregatesanctions to the hill state to Rs 403.27 crore during thecurrent financial year.

The amount of Rs 112.35 crore has been sanctioned forconstruction of one major rural water supply project, 21 minorirrigation projects and 32 roads and bridge projects.

The major water supply project is located in Mandidistrict for the Source Level Augmentation of water supply tothe Baira, Bhadrota, Suranga and Hatli area in TehsilSarkaghat.

The project with an outlay of Rs 28.43 crore and the RIDFassistance of Rs 25.59 crore would benefit 44,620 residents.

The 21 minor irrigation projects with a total outlay ofRs 22.32 crore and RIDF assistance of Rs 21.20 crore consistof five rain water harvesting projects, six flow irrigationprojects, nine lift irrigation projects and one deep tube wellproject.

An area of 1,201.23 hectares of agricultural land wouldbe brought under irrigation on implementation of theseprojects.
