Kiran Reddy participates in Rachabanda programme in Prakasam

Hyderabad, Feb 7 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NKiran Kumar Reddy today participated in the ''Rachabanda''programme at Machavaram Village in Prakasam district today.

Reddy announced that nearly Rs 109 crore was being spentfor various developmental programmes in the district duringthe programme, an official release from the Chief Minister''soffice said.

To a query on the fee re-reimbursement scheme, the ChiefMinister said that the new Group of Ministers constituted forthe purpose was looking into it and assured that everyeligible student will be paid the amount, it said.

The government will not allow college management toharass the students on fee reimbursements and talks are onwith college managements in this regard, he added.

Reddy said the government has already taken concretesteps towards the free reimbursement scheme which will helparound 24 lakh students.

There are problems as fee reimbursement scheme dues arebeing accumulated since the last 2-3 years.

He also sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for roads and drains in thevillage, drinking water scheme which will ensure protectedsafe drinking water to all the villages, an anganwadi for theSC colony and a PHC or a medical sub centre with a regulardoctor for the village as requested by the village womenduring the Rachabanda programme, the release said.

The Rachabanda programme, in its 13th day, was held at1,507 places throughout the state today. However, there wereminor disruptions in a total of 94 places in Telangana region,it added.

Reddy, in the afternoon, participated in Rachabandaprogramme at Nizampatnam, and Guntur district where headdressed a public meeting and distributed assets to thebeneficiaries.

He will participate in Rachabanda programme in Borabandacity here tomorrow.
