Kapil Sibal visits BARC

Mumbai, Feb 7 (PTI) Union Telecom Minister and Ministerof Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal today visited theBhabha Atomic Research Centre and interacted with thescientists.

During his visit, the Minister was briefed about some ofthe recent developments that are taking place in BARC by itsDirector Dr R K Sinha.

Sibal visited few labs including research reactor''Dhruva'' and the fast-breeder fuel processing facility, Sinhatold PTI.

Later, he addressed the scientific community at theCentral Complex of BARC emphasising on how the scientistsshould be prepared for new challenges of the 21st century.

The Minister highlighted the importance of green energy(nuclear) for the country and also how it could help mitigatethe threat of climate change.

Sibal is in town to deliver the Nani Palkhiwala memoriallecture at National Centre for Performing Arts.
