Himachal Assembly: Budget session starts from Feb 28

Shimla, Feb 7 (PTI) The 40-day long budget session ofthe Himachal Pradesh Assembly would commence on February 28,according to a notification issued by the Governor.

The session would have 24 sittings, including twoprivate member''s days on March 10 and April 7. There would benine-day recess from March 19 to 27 for scrutiny of the budgetby House Committees.

Chief Minister P K Dhumal, who also holds the financeportfolio, would present the 2011-12 annual budget on March 9.

It is likely to be passed on March 31.

This would be ninth budget of Dhumal and fourth insuccession -- the chief minister had presented five budgetsduring his first term from 1998 to 2003 and three budgetsduring the present term.
