Fire in NJP parcel godown

Siliguri (WB), Feb 8 (PTI) A fire broke out in theparcel godown of New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway station inJalpaiguri district today, fire brigade sources said.

The fire was noticed in the morning and three firetenders doused the blaze in three hours.

Many parcels in the godown situated on platform no.

one were reduced to ashes, the sources said.

There was no casualty or injury.

It appeared to be caused by short circuit, the sourcessaid.

NJP area manager A K Sharma said a committee wasformed to probe the incident.

Train movement was not affected as trains werediverted to other platforms, he said.
