Dismissed IAS officer withdraws self-immolation threat
Bhopal, Feb 7 (PTI) Ramesh Thete, a dismissed IASofficer of the 1993 batch, who had threatened self-immolationbefore the Prime Minister''s office, today withdrew his planfollowing assurances of his re-instatement.
Thete told PTI from Jabalpur that he had receivedpositive assurances from both New Delhi and Bhopalabout his re-instatement.
"The process for my re-instatement has begun and hencethere is no need for me to commit self-immolation," Thetesaid.
The officer was dismissed on bribery charges and had saida few days ago that he would take the extreme step if was nottaken back into service.
He said that he had been cleared long back of thebribery charge both by the High Court and the Supreme Court.
