CBI questions former Telecom Commission member

New Delhi, Feb 7 (PTI) Ahead of submitting its reportto the Supreme Court in the 2G scam, the CBI today questionedformer Telecom Commission member K Sridhar in connection withthe allocation of spectrum in 2007-08.

Sridhar came to the agency''s headquarters here and wasquizzed about his role in the spectrum allocation, sourcessaid.

Though officials were tight-lipped about the line ofquestioning, the sources said, he was asked about certainpolicy decisions that were taken during his tenure.

Former Telecom Minister A Raja and two other seniorofficials have already been arrested in connection with thescam.

Raja, his former personal secretary R K Chandolia andformer Telecom Secretary Siddartha Behura were arrested forallegedly abusing their official position and manipulating thetendering procedures to benefit certain telecom companies ingetting the spectrum.

The arrest of 47-year-old Raja, who has beenquestioned four times by the agency, came over two monthsafter he was forced to resign in the wake of the spectrumcontroversy.

The Supreme Court has asked CBI and EnforcementDirectorate to submit status reports on their investigationsinto the 2G spectrum case to it by February 10 when the casewill come up for further hearing.
