Thai, Cambodian troops clash near heritage Preah Vihear temple
Preah Vihear (Cambodia), Feb. 7 (ANI): Cambodian and Thai troops exchanged fire on Monday in the region of Tasem near the Preah Vihear Temple, a world heritage site.
It was the fifth military clash between the two troops in four days, the Xinhua news agency reports.
Both sides reportedly used heavy weapons, including rockets, machine guns, mortars and artillery.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council to tell the Thai Government to stop its invasion of Cambodian territory.
The temple of Preah Vihear is said to have sustained some damage during the clashes.
Both sides have been blaming the other for launching the attack first. (ANI)
