Police custody for ULFA leaders
Guwahati, Feb 6 (PTI) The three ULFA leaders handed overby Bangladesh to India have been remanded to ten days policecustody by a Kamrup court today.
The three ULFA leaders - Antu Choudang, Pradip Chetiaand Pranjit Saikia - were handed over by Bangladeshauthorities to Border Security Force at Dawki alongIndo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya yesterday. They werebrought here last night and were produced during the daybefore Chief Judicial Magistrate Robin Phukan who remandedthem to police custody.
Choudang is the third senior-most leader after theoutfit''s commander-in-chief Paresh Barua and Jibon Moran whowere still at large.
Choudang told reporters outside the court that the triowould abide by the decision of ULFA central executive leadersto hold unconditional talks with the Centre to resolve thelong-standing conflict.
