Nabard grants 169 cr to UP

Lucknow, Feb 7 (PTI) The National Bank for Agricultureand Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned a loan of Rs169.04 crore to Uttar Pradesh under the Rural InfrastructureDevelopment Fund.

While an amount of Rs 124.44 crores has been sanctionedfor modernisation of distribution system and replacement ofpump sets of 6800 deep tube well projects, Rs 39.30 crore hasbeen given for construction of 16 rural bridge projects,"Chief General Manager, UP regional Office, Nabard, D P Misrasaid.

Additionally, Rs 5.30 crore has been sanctioned for TreeImprovement Project under Forestry, said Misra.

"On completion of the minor irrigation project, therewill be an increase of 37,300 hectare of irrigated land andrestoration of 6.8 lakh hectare cultivable land," he added.
