Marginal fall in day temperatures in Himachal

Shimla, Feb 6 (PTI) While the minimum temperaturesincreased marginally in Himachal Pradesh, the maximum todaydropped by few notches in mid and higher hills as the skyremained heavily overcast and strong winds swept the region.

The tribal areas of Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spitiexperienced another spell of mild snowfall while Shimla,Narkanda and other higher hills had traces of rains.

However, the minimum and maximum temperatures rose tominus 5.5 deg C and 6.6 deg C, four and ten degrees abovenormal.

The minimum temperature marginally dropped to 8.1 degC in Shimla, which recorded a high of 15.6 deg C, a drop ofthree degrees while Palampur, Mandi, Nahan, Sundernagar,Bhuntar and Una recorded maximum temperatures at 12.5 deg C,11.1 deg C, 10.8 deg C, 10.7 deg C, 9.5 deg C and 9 deg C,respectively.

Una was the hottest in the region with the maximumtemperature staying at 26 deg C, followed by Nahan 25.6 deg C,Solan 23 deg C, Sundernagar 18.6 deg C, Mandi 17.8 deg C,Dharamshala 16.8 deg C, Bhuntar 12.6 deg C and Kalpa 2.7 degC, a drop of five to seven degrees since yesterday.

The local MeT office has predicted rains or snow invarious parts of the state during the next 72 hours.
