Main accused in girl attack case held

Fatehpur, Feb 7 (PTI) Police today arrested Shivom, themain accused in the attack on a 16-year-old girl who resisteda rape attempt in Bindaki area.

The police also recovered the axe used to inflict seriouswounds on her face, head and hand, Superintendent of PoliceRam Bharose told reporters here.

Shivom (25) is the second person to be arrested in thecase after Harishanker was nabbed yesterday. The thirdaccused, Ram Ratan, is still absconding.

The SP said that on the basis of the complaint filed bythe girl''s father, an FIR under section 354 (outraging modestyof a woman), 307 (attempt to murder) and 326 (voluntarilycausing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) has beenlodged.
