JMM dubs Centre as a betrayer

Baripada (Orissa), Feb 6 (PTI) JMM today launched ascathing attack on the Congress-led UPA government at theCentre accusing it of being a betrayer.

"Congress party sought our support for survival. Aftersucceeded in doing so, they conspired against us and betrayedus", Hemant Soren, Deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand and JMMleader, said.

Addressing a rally at Gurundia in Orissa''s Mayurbhanjdistrict, Hemant lambasted the Centre that the UPA governmenthad betrayed his father Shibu Soren by dropping him from theunion cabinet and then conspired to remove him from the chiefministership of Jharkhand.

Manmohan Singh Government in 2004 had asked Soren toresign from the union council of ministers following anon-bailable arrest warrant issued against him in connectionwith 1975 Chirrudih massacre.

He has since been aquitted in the case.

Soren had also resigned from the chief minister''s postin January 2009 after he lost the Tamar assembly bypoll andfailed to enter the assembly.

Hemant, the All India Youth Wing Chief and CentralCommittee member of JMM, and senior Soren were at Gurundia toaddress the rally organised on the occasion of 62nd GurundiaSahid Divas.
