Cop suspended for taking Rs 70,000 bribe
Beed, Feb 6 (PTI) A police sub-inspector was todaysuspended for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 70,000 to preparea weak case against a man, accused of producing spurious ZanduBalm, police said.
Police sub-inspector Tulshiram Dhumal had taken the bribefrom Mayur Khogir, who was caught for allegedly makingcounterfeit Zandu Balm and Nova cream products worth of Rs9,000 last week, they said.
Dhumal took Rs 70,000 from the accused to leave loopholes in the case so that he is granted bail and the chancesof his exoneration in the court of law brightened, policesaid.
