Bunkers, bombs found in Burdwan
Burdwan (WB), Feb 7 (PTI) Two underground bunkers,with over 200 bombs and a musket in them, were found from avillage under restive Mangalkot police station today.
Superintendent of Police Humayun Kabir said thebunkers were found during a search operation in the villagefollowing a tip off.
A bunker is a shelter, built partly or fullyunderground to protect its inmates from falling bombs or otherkind of attacks.
Kabir said 225 bombs, a musket and six rounds ofammunition were recovered from the bunkers which were quitefreshly built and each could accommodate six to seven persons.
The arms were probably supplied from Munger in Biharand neighbouring Murshidabad district of West Bengal, he said.
Search operations for such bunkers would be made inthe entire district, he said.
Clashes between CPI(M) and Trinamool Congress occurredfrequently in Mangalkot since the Lok Sabha election in 2009.
