Belgian Senator: 'No sex until government is formed'

BRUSSELS: As negotiations for a new Belgian government continue in their seventh month, Belgian Senator Marleen Temmerman has come up with a new idea to speed up the process.

Temmerman on Monday called on government negotiators to abstain from having sex until a new government has been formed, according to the HLN newspaper.

The Belgian politician, who is a member of the Different Socialist Party (sp.a), got the idea from Kenya where women organizations in 2009 called on the wives of negotiations to stop having sex until there was an agreement on the table for a new government. "A week later, the document was on the table," she said.

The negotiations to form a new federal government have been continuing for nearly 8 months. "No, it can't continue like this. Instead, lets close the legs," Temmerman added, as cited by HLN.
