Pune stadium named after Sahara India group head
Lucknow, Feb 5 (PTI) The Pune stadium of MaharahtraCricket Association has been named after the head of theSahara India group Subrato Roy Sahara, according to a SaharaIndia release.
An announcement to this effect was made by ICC chiefSharad Pawar.
The stadium equipped with modern facilities was namedafter Roy as the ICC and BCCI norms do not permit naming of astadium after a brand, said the release.
Sahara India, which owns Pune Warriors team in IPL, hasgot the rights for the naming of the stadium as per itsagreement with Maharashtra Cricket association, the releasesaid adding the group would make some construction near thestadium on its expense.
