Mercury rises in Punjab, Haryana
Chandigarh, Feb 6 (PTI) Cold conditions receded inPunjab and Haryana with minimum temperature surging by sevennotches above normal in the region.
Ambala and Hisar settled at 11.6 deg Celsius and 14deg C, rising by four and seven degrees respectively whileChandigarh had a low of 13.2 deg C, up by six degrees abovenormal, Met office said today.
Rohtak, Karnal and Narnaul also saw mercury going upin the range of six degrees and settled at 12.6 deg C, 14 degC and 11.4 deg C respectively while Bhiwani had a low of 13.4deg C.
In Punjab, Ludhiana and Amritsar settled at 10.3 deg Cand 11 deg C with mercury rising by 3 and 6 degreesrespctively, as Patiala recorded minimum of 10.7 deg C, up byfour degrees above normal.
Met in its forecast said mercury may further rise inin the region.
