Jharkhand lawyers on a day''s ceasework tomorrow
Dhanbad (Jharkhand) Feb 6 (PTI) Lawyers in Jharkhandwould launch a ceasework tomorrow in protest against an orderby Dhanbad district administration asking pleaders to vacatethe campus of Sub-Divisional Magistrate court.
Dhanbad Bar Association General Secretary RaheshyamGoswami said here today, "the Bar Council has declaredstatewide protest tomorrow in support of our demand".
The advocates of Dhanbad had been on dharna againstthe step by the administration from January 26 with theircounterparts in other Jharkhand courts expressing solidaritywith the move.
"The advocates have been sitting in the SDM campussince 1908 and even British government recognised thearrangement. But the Deputy Commissioner is changing thecentury''s old arrangement sans a proper, alternative provisionfor us," he said.
