History-sheeter hacked to death
Lucknow, Feb 6 (PTI) A history-sheeter was hacked todeath allegedly by a village head and his associates in Nagramarea, police said here today.
Manjit Singh (28), who had several cases against him, wasattacked by armed persons, who later chopped off his righthand with an axe, they said, adding, the man died on the spotdue to excessive bleeding.
An FIR had been lodged against village head Anand Gopaland six of his aides Khelawan, Thakur Prasad, Guddu, Rahul,Ram Kumar and Becha Lal in this connection.
Singh''s brother Dilip alleged that Anand had enmity withManjit, as he opposed them in the recent panchayat electionsin the state.
